A carefully considered
levy ask

Issue 31:

  • This 3.9-mill levy would cost $11.40/month per $100,000 in Montgomery County Auditor assessed value.

  • Because of a 50-year-old law*, Centerville's previously passed levy funding remains flat.

  • Ohio's so-called "Fair" School Funding Plan provides only 13% of Centerville City Schools' funding through state aid.

* House Bill 920, 1976

Rising Costs:

  • Inflation has impacted all aspects of Centerville's operations, yet school funding has not kept pace.

  • Last time new revenue (levy) approved: 5 years ago in 2019.

  • The next chance to secure new funding is in 2026, with that fiscal year projected to end with a $5.8 million deficit.
